It’s been about 20 years since the first Kin’s Farm Market opened, changing the way we buy produce in Vancouver.
Their commitment to bringing the freshest specialty fruits and veggies around, all the while offering the highest level of customer service, has made Kin’s a leader among produce retailers.
Late last year, the company decided to develop its own in-house brand of products – just as Loblaws (Superstore) has their President’s Choice brand, for example.
It was the designer behind the Kin’s stores, Ray Kay of Kay Design, who sought out North Vancouver-based Motion Foods to create salsas, salad dressings, cranberry sauces and antipasto to be sold exclusively at Kin’s Farm Market under the label Fusion Gourmet.
For the past six years, the main focus for Motion Foods has been providing private-label sandwiches to local coffee shops and restaurants that don’t have a commercial kitchen.
Company owner Georgy Good says the partnership between Motion Foods and Kin’s Farm Market has been beneficial to both businesses.
“These products are quite popular,” says Good. “It’s one-stop shopping for Kin’s customers who come in for the produce, but might also need some salad dressing.”
Kin’s Farm Market purchasing manager Victor Lau echoes Good’s sentiments by saying that while the company specializes in produce they also want to enhance the shopping experience for their customers.
“We knew we wanted to bring in something local,” says Lau.
In keeping with Kin’s commitment to offering their customers the freshest fruits and vegetables, only the freshest ingredients are used in Fusion Gourmet products.
They also contain no preservatives, no trans fat, and only naturally occurring sugars.
I tried the Strawberry Vinaigrette and found it to be a refreshing, flavourful treat.
All Fusion Gourmet salad dressings are perfect for light summertime meals as they are a reprieve from heavier, mayonnaise-based dressings.
For an added twist on your next turkey dinner, be sure to try one of Fusion Gourmet’s three uniquely flavored cranberry sauces, including Fig and Orange and Lemon and Blueberry.
